Cleaning Bristol
If your a race fan you'll remember back a few years ago when Bristol Motor Speedway brought in dirt and covered the entire track with tons & tons of dirt to run the World of Outlaw cars and the Late Model cars. I
pursued getting the contract of cleaning the track when the races were over and in 2001...I got it.
I was still using my first 443 Magnum Trailer rig from Perry and Nick Benson and told them of the job at Bristol and here they came. This is the kind of people they are down at Benson Enterprises and Magnum. They built me a brand new 443 Trailer Rig to use and showcase at Bristol Motor Speedway. Man was I riding high-here I went from cleaning bricks and sidewalks to cleaning the entire NASCAR track at Bristol - with the best equipment in the world from Benson - I was feeling pumped and ready to go.
I started cleaning the outside wall and George (the painter) wanted me to blow off the paint along with the wall (Mud covered 1/2 the wall) all the way around the track. I put on the Benson's turbo nozzle and took off. Nine days later at 8 hours a day by myself with no helpers (other than the 443 Trailer) I finished the walk. It's real hard to stand up in the high bank turns but I was so stoked thinking about all the race legends that had hit these walls through the years, the time went by fast.
Next I cleaned just the racing surface with Magnum's "Big Bad Thunder Dome" which was so impressive - Bristol speedway purchased four
thunderdoms and four turbo wands from Benson's for them to use at the speedway. As usual with Benson's personal and quick service the equipment was delivered the next day. Cleaning the racing service took about 3 weeks - next I cleaned the apron, pit roads, both sides and small the small walls in the infield. Then on to the mezzanine inside the stand - in all the cleaning took 2 months. As you would expect from southern hospitality Jeff Byrd and all the people at Bristol were super including putting me up -no charge- in a big motor home while I worked there. I also forgot to mention I also got the job cleaning the race cars before and after the race. That;s my experience cleaning a major race track - and I am proud of it.
I could not have done it without Perry & Nick Benson providing me with brand new Magnum quality trailer rig and service -whether it was on the phone with advice or shipping supplies overnight to keep me working. Not only did the do that when I worked at Bristol, but every time I needed service. I am coming up on my 10th year in the Power Washing business and on my 2nd trailer rig. Perry & Nick and all the folks at Benson Enterprises have been with me all the way. Benson's is a family business and they have always treated me like one of the family. Thanks guys for all the help-looking forward to my next MagnaBlast rig.
